Child Support Services
Contra Costa County\xe2\x80\x99s Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) has received multiple program awards for their hard work and outstanding achievements within the program and is looking for an individual who will continue this standard of excellence on our team. DCSS assists families by establishing, collecting, and distributing child and medical support for minors. The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.
Minimum Qualifications
License Required: Candidate must possess a valid California motor vehicle operator\xe2\x80\x99s license. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator\xe2\x80\x99s license will be accepted during the application process.

Education: Possession of a high school diploma, GED proficiency or high school equivalency certificate supplemented by nine college semester or twelve college quarter units in information systems, computer science or a closely related field.

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience performing information systems support and equipment installation duties.

Substitution: One (1) year of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required coursework in computer science when possessing one of the following current and valid certifications: CompTIA A+, Net+, Server+; Microsoft MCITP Desktop Support.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in Child Support Enforcement (CSE) system, System center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for PC image deployment and Imprivata/SSO


Selection Process
Selection Plan:

  • Application Evaluation: Depending on the number of applications received, an Application Evaluation Board may be convened to evaluate and select the best-qualified candidates for invitation to the next phase of the examination.
  • Information Systems Technician II Online Skills Assessment: Candidates invited to take the Information Systems Technician II online skills assessment will need access to a computer and the internet. The assessment will measure candidates\' competencies as they relate to the job. These may include, but are not limited to: Critical Thinking, Professional & Technical Expertise, Attention to Detail, Customer Focus, and Teamwork. (Weighted 100%)
  • Hiring Interview: First week of June

Tentative Dates:
Online Skills Assessment: May 17 \xe2\x80\x93 21, 2023

The assessment will be administered remotely using a computer. You will need access to a reliable internet connection to take the assessment.

The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
