General Information

James Madison University is accepting applications for a highly motivated, dedicated individual to serve as part of the IT-Information Systems Team supporting the university\xe2\x80\x99s Identity and Access Management applications and operations. This position has the option of in-person, fully remote, or a hybrid of both.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be provided training on the university\xe2\x80\x99s next generation identity and access management system. They will be responsible for full software development life-cycle efforts (analysis, design, configuration, development/integration, testing, implementation and support). Additionally, responsibilities will include support of on-going operations and system maintenance.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in Identity and Access Management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in REST API development.
  • Demonstrated experience with software development in medium to large complex application environments.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills; one who can effectively convey information verbally and in writing.
  • The flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and work assignments while effectively prioritizing and juggling multiple concurrent projects.
  • Highly analytical thinking skills with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving and streamlining complex work processes.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills that lead to workable solutions and swift resolution.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of enterprise level directories like LDAP, Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with IAM concepts and best practices.
  • Knowledge of IAM software, such as Okta, Oracle or SailPoint.
  • Experience with identity and access management systems outside the Oracle family of products.
  • Experience with SAML and Shibboleth.
  • Knowledge of enterprise level single sign-on and multi factor authentication solutions.
  • Ability to test and debug units, modules, programs, and applications.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation, procedures, reports etc.

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, the university police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures, protocols for the immediate notification of students and staff upon confirmation of a significant emergency on campus and other matters of importance related to security and safety. The report includes statistics for the most recent three-year period of reported crimes that have occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by JMU or its affiliates; and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes campus housing fire statistics for the most recent three-year period, a description of each on-campus student housing facility fire safety system, the number of fire drills held during the previous calendar year, policies or rules on portable electrical appliances, smoking, and open flames in student housing; and procedures for student housing evacuation in the event of fire along with other fire safety information.
