The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Support Supervisor. This position functions as the HR Liaison overseeing the daily operation of the HR office and is responsible for supervising and directing staff in benefit processing, distributing work assignments, recruitment, training and evaluating work performance.
Job Duties:

  • Supervises and oversees the HR Office staff, conducts interviews, hires, approves leave and trains staff on work related processes, procedures and systems
  • Assigns and monitors work of subordinates; reviews and evaluates work performance to take corrective action when necessary, ensuring personnel activity is processed timely and accurately
  • Monitors and tracks complex position control and completes vacancy reports for placement of correctional personnel and tracking
  • Prepares reports for the Institution\xe2\x80\x99s Warden and the Warden\xe2\x80\x99s management team
  • Proctors written exams, schedules oral boards, and makes job offers
  • Researches, investigates and communicates requested information for employees, management, and Central Office HR on a variety of complex personnel subjects
  • Facilitates team meetings and process improvement work groups
  • Oversees research, and compiles data for drafting procedures and manuals
  • Travels on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
  • Human Resources Information System (HRIS) data input
  • HRIS Security and HRIS Report Writer
  • Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules, ADOA Compensation guidelines and Federal HR laws
  • Work application and flow
  • General understanding of mathematical calculations
  • Spreadsheets and database management
  • Personal computers and software including Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Selective Preference(s):
  • Two (2) years of supervisory related experience working in a government setting

Pre-Employment Requirements:
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver\xe2\x80\x99s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

Retirement:
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).

Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
