Day in the life of a Human Resources Business Partner:

Acts as a strategic partner to leadership for implementing and managing the development and roll-out of human resources programs and initiatives driving organizational excellence. Provides proactive coaching, counseling, training, consultation and support to leadership in the interpretation and application of all aspects of state and federal rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to Human Resources (HR). Interprets and writes policies and procedures for department.

Here is what you will be doing:
  • Provides expertise in implementing and managing the development and roll-out of human resources programs and initiatives to drive organizational excellence.
  • Partners with leadership to facilitate communication and problem resolution for human resources related concerns impacting the work environment; provides leadership in the areas of employee and labor relationships; conducts internal investigations and reports findings to the Department manager and HR Director; represents the department at unemployment hearings; assists legal counsel in the preparation and presentation of documents necessary to respond to employee complaints to outside state and federal agencies.
  • Provides proactive coaching, consultation and support to a designated customer base in the interpretation and application of all aspects of Human Resources; including employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, staffing and retention, compensation, benefits, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, training development, and overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Provides coaching, assistance and recommended approaches to employees and managers to help them maximize their performance and potential and to avoid legal problems; facilitates communication between managers and employees.
  • Collaborates with the human resources team to develop and implement department goals, strategies and process improvement initiatives; updates and revises HR policies and procedures.
  • Participates in continuous learning to ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and The Joint Commission (TJC) human resources standards.
Desired Skills:
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient with MS Office, Outlook and Internet Explorer skills
  • Possess thorough knowledge and ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail
  • Thorough knowledge of various state and federal rules, regulations and laws that impact HR decisions and recommendations.
  • Strong problem solving, mediation, and/or negotiation skills
Here is what you will need:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • OR, Associate\'s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration and five (5) or more years of experience as a Business Partner or HR Generalist
  • Five (5) or more years of HR Generalist experience and/or a leadership role involving Human Resources
  • Five (5) or more years of experience managing or supporting employee relations, corrective actions, and recommending employee terminations
Nice to have:
  • Prior healthcare experience
  • HR Certification
