Duties



Prepare and cook hibachi-style dishes with precision, flair, and attention to detail, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met. Lead food preparation activities, including ingredient assembly, seasoning, and cooking techniques specific to hibachi cuisine. Supervise kitchen staff during service shifts, providing guidance on food safety, cleanliness, and efficient workflow. Manage inventory control for ingredients and supplies needed for hibachi dishes, minimizing waste and ensuring freshness. Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning, specials development, and catering events to enhance customer satisfaction. Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen operations. Oversee dietary accommodations and ensure all dishes meet specific dietary requirements or restrictions when requested.

Skills



Proven experience in fine dining or hibachi-style restaurant environments with a strong background in food production and presentation. Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience within a busy kitchen setting. Extensive knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation practices in the food industry. Skilled in inventory management, cost control, and food management systems to optimize kitchen operations. Expertise in menu planning, food preparation techniques, and catering services related to Japanese cuisine. Leadership qualities that foster teamwork, motivate staff, and promote a positive work environment. Strong understanding of hospitality standards, including serving etiquette and customer engagement during live cooking demonstrations.
