Summary

• Shared teaching responsibilities; classrooms staffed with three qualified educators.
• Classroom behavioral health and special needs supported by multidisciplinary team including, Mental Health & Disability Manager, Family Support staff, and multiple contracted clinicians & field experts.
• Family Support Specialist assigned to each classroom to partner in supporting family engagement and positive family interactions and outcomes. Health & Nutrition staff work directly with teachers and families to address and oversee child medical needs and the implementation of Individual Health Plans.
• Ongoing professional development opportunities including regional & national conferences, in-service group seminars, 1:1 peer learning, and training support via the Practice-Based Coaching model.

Duties

Implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum; coordinating classroom activities, parent conferences & home visits; maintaining Head Start standards, NAEYC accreditation, & required state/federal documentation in a Preschool classroom.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree in Early Childhood Education and two years experience in a preschool classroom. Must have knowledge of Head Start standards and Connecticut Early Learning and Development standards.
