POSITION DESCRIPTION

HGL is currently seeking a Geologist I to provide full-time on-site support to a multi-year environmental project at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah involving remediation of multiple sites across the installation.

Responsibilities/Duties

WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING

The person hired for this role will be responsible for:

  • Daily operation and maintenance of multiple remediation systems.
  • Providing support to other project staff for the installation, operation, and maintenance of multiple remediation systems.
  • Performing system monitoring and collection of field data, multimedia sampling and support to remedial construction activities.
  • Preparing daily field logs and forms.
  • Support for preparation of technical plans and reports.
Required Skills

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:
  • 0 to 2 years of experience with remediation projects.
  • Familiarity with MS Windows and MS Office.
  • Ability to drive an on-site pickup truck and have a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Skills

WHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT
  • Experience working on U.S. federal contracts.
  • Experience on RCRA, CERCLA, or DoD projects.
  • Contaminated soil and groundwater monitoring and remediation experience including discrete/composite soil and groundwater sampling, groundwater level measurement, and inspections.
  • Performance of field activities and environmental construction.
  • Current and valid 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification, up to date annual 8-hr OSHA refresher certification (as applicable).
  • Ability to obtain a professional credential (P.G.) as applicable.
Required Education
  • BA/BS in Geology, Science or a related academic field.
