The
General Manager
will play a key role in our evolution, standardizing processes, elevating quality, and fueling growth. You'll be the go-to leader for operations, people, and performance. Expect to split your time between office leadership and field presence to keep schedules tight, quality high, and customers happy.
Responsibilities
Own day-to-day operations: scheduling, route planning, job costing, quality control, and production efficiency.
Lead, coach, and hold crews accountable to clear standards for safety, quality, and customer service.
Manage P&L drivers: monitor KPIs (labor %, materials %, on-time completion, callbacks), and implement improvements.
Elevate the customer experience: oversee estimates, approvals, work orders, and proactive communication to reduce callbacks and boost reviews.
Hire, onboard, and develop team members; support recruiting pipelines and workforce planning.
Oversee equipment and fleet readiness: preventive maintenance, repairs, and asset planning.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
Partner with ownership on growth initiatives, pricing, seasonal planning, and brand alignment between Premier and Quality Cut.
Qualifications
5 or more years of leadership in lawn care/landscaping, green industry services, or related field operations (multi-crew oversight preferred).
Proven track record improving KPIs, scheduling, and routing efficiency, and team performance.
Strong, hands-on leadership style; calm under pressure; decisive and solutions-oriented.
Comfortable with basic business tools (scheduling/CRM platforms, spreadsheets, email); data-driven mindset.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; insurable under company policy.
Ability to work outdoors in seasonal Missouri conditions and lift/carry up to 50 lbs as needed to support field operations.
Willingness to jump in with the team in the field when necessary to meet schedule and quality targets.
Schedule & Pay
Full-time, exempt role based in Columbia, MO.
Salary: $50,000 to $60,000 base (commensurate with experience) + performance incentives.
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, paid time off (PTO), and sick leave.
