Reporting directly to the Division Finance Director the Division Analyst will be responsible for the Division\xe2\x80\x99s financial close, reporting & analysis, support the Division\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and M&A activities. He or she will work closely with the Finance Directors & Controllers of the business units to ensure that close submissions & reporting are accurate & timely. This role is also the key contact for all close and reporting with Group Finance. The Analyst will support strategic analysis for the division strategy & varying initiatives relative to M&A\xe2\x80\x99s working with the Division Managing Director and other senior executives in the Division.

Job Specification Financial Reporting & FP&A Rhythm \xe2\x80\xa2 Administrator and champion of the Divisions reporting system (currently Pulse). \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for all Division financial & scorecard reporting; including weekly sales & orders, all monthly, quarterly & annual reporting. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for understanding Group close calendar, requirements and deadlines and communicating close instructions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for the FP&A rhythm with the BUs to ensure that R&Os are highlighted and managed in a timely manner to ensure performance to the targets.

  • Ensure that the financial statement roll-ups for the Division are accurate and question underlying data trends for reasonableness. \xe2\x80\xa2 Participate/lead the finance reviews with the businesses to ensure the AST_HO team is aware of the underlying performance across all businesses. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure you are familiar with the Group control manual as it relates to reporting, CAPEX investments; monitoring and reporting on spend and status. \xe2\x80\xa2 Manage the process for all reporting & business reviews in the Division.
Consolidate the BU Business review data submissions monthly for use in the Division business review deck. \xe2\x80\xa2 Leads the budget/forecast process both within the Division & with Group Finance, including PPG. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop tools and processes to identify areas of improvement and simplification in reporting. \xe2\x80\xa2 Conducts financial analysis, modeling, forecasting simulations to highlight performance & provide insightful analysis.

  • Manage the Divisions reporting dashboard to provide appropriate business insights to key leaders. \xe2\x80\xa2 Support the data governance and digital transformation efforts of the Division. Strategic Analysis & M&A Activities \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for the strategic planning data collection process, overall simulation & roll-up of the strategic position. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responsible for performing market research & key competitor analysis to support the strategic planning process.
  • Support the acquisitions process with targeted analysis. \xe2\x80\xa2 Work with the Divisions Executive team on key strategic initiatives/projects. \xe2\x80\xa2 Support other adhoc projects on an as needed basis. Education and/or Experience \xe2\x80\xa2 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights or other similar reporting systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum of 10-12 years related experience in a senior finance role. \xe2\x80\xa2 Advanced skills in Excel with pivot table, v-look ups, queries, formulas, and charts creating financial reports. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in leading/directing transformational projects.
  • Proven ability to prepare/analyze detailed finance trends to highlight anomalies in business performance. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong financial modeling experience. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to read financial statements and make informed decisions based on large sets of data. Personal Characteristics \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience working with, and presenting to, senior executives. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with executive-level management. \xe2\x80\xa2 Honest, trustworthy, and possessing the highest and uncompromisable ethics and integrity.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organization and analytical skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects and complete them in a timely manner. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
