Department Office of Financial Support/Scholarship
Essential Functions This position provides support for the scholarship area within the Office of Financial Support and Scholarships. The Coordinator is responsible for the processing of 3 million in outside agency scholarships, including posting awards, management of deposits, tracking scholarship checks, disbursing funds to students and returning funds to donors if needed. The Financial Support Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the processing of all internal scholarships, remissions, athletic scholarships and third party awards, including major scholarships such as Goodrich and Buffett. This position is also responsible for assisting with the awarding of new student remission awards, including evaluating scholarship recipients for renewal eligibility. The Financial Support Coordinator assists with the processing and posting of departmental scholarships, verifies fund balances, checks individual award criteria and reviews recipient eligibility.
Work Schedule M-F, 8 A.M. - 5 P.M. but may vary
Additional Duties This position will complete various projects as assigned, including, but not limited to running various reports, adjusting aid packages, monitoring tuition specific scholarships/remissions for enrollment changes and calculating/adjusting aid packages to prevent over-awards as per Federal Regulations and UNO award packaging policies.
The position requires the individual to be cross-trained with the other Coordinator positions (Grants and Loans) in order to fill-in gaps during peak processing or employee absences. The Financial Support Coordinator will also assist outreach staff with proactive customer service on the phone and front counter.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree
One year financial aid or progressively responsible administrative work.
Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Critical thinking skills and ability to make sound judgments.
