Job Description

Responsible for assisting with the implementation of UI Planner Financial Model application upgrade. The Financial Model System (provided by the vendor UI Solutions Group) is used by AEP and subsidiaries to project revenue and expenses to derive forecasted Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flows, and Credit Metrics, and for tax planning/legislative efforts. These projected financials are used to monitor AEP\'s results, for external guidance with investors and rating agencies, and for regulatory filings. This position will work closely with external consultants with the upgrade of the financial forecast model to their latest version of the software. The project is slated to go live in February/March 2024.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:
1) Provide system support/administrative duties for the Financial Model application.
2) Initiate and formulate financial forecasts, in conjunction with operating company personnel, using corporate financial models including the identification of significant strategic issues and alternative and/or contingency plans.

3) Perform monthly/quarterly variance reporting and analysis of budget vs. actual results and actual vs. prior year results for the primary purpose of improving future forecasts. This analysis will also aid operating companies in understanding their financial results and assist Financial Reporting in SEC reporting.

4) Identify needed rate relief and make recommendations for the timing and amount. Develop and prepare pro forma rate case data and testimony. Assist witness in testimony preparation.

5) Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement, cost savings and revenue enhancement.
