What you\'ll do here:

We are looking for a Financial Analyst that will play a key role in the Finance group providing the financial and related operational support for the Secondary Education team. Responsibilities include forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis for sales and costs; update and maintain key financial metrics; provide Ad Hoc analysis and reports; and financial and operational support in pursuit of strategic drivers of value.

The incumbent should have proven interpersonal skills with a track record of establishing collaborative business relationships with cross functional teams within an organization; the ability to manage and use large volumes of data within analyses along with using existing resources to problem solve; and have effective communication skills to work with all levels of management and staff.

This role will report to the Vice President, Finance.

  • Support the Go-to-Market team by compiling financial information to provide visibility on sales and costs.
  • Develop detailed financial and analytical models to improve insight into business performance and support critical initiatives.
  • Extract and manage large amounts of data in multiple formats, conduct analyses, summarize, and optimally communicate findings to support the decision-making process.
  • Perform monthly financial reporting tasks, including forecasting and budgeting activities.
  • Report and monitor actual, budget and forecast data in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform variance analysis and identifies drivers of business performance.
  • Investigate discrepancies and provides recommendations.
  • Perform special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis, as required.
Skills you will need here:
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in financial reporting, planning, forecasting, analysis, and month-end close
  • Adapt well to fast-pace environment and rapidly changing priorities and activities
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient with financial reporting and planning software and general ledger systems (JD Edwards, Hyperion Essbase -Smartview, Oracle Data Warehouse)
  • Experience with PowerPivot, Tableau, Smartsheets and other data visualization tools a plus.
  • Strong Accounting background with understanding of GAAP and Compliance standards.
  • Exhibit initiative and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent detail-orientation with ability to multitask and respond to competing priorities
  • Ability to contribute constructively in team-oriented environment with rapidly changing priorities and time pressures
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral with ability to communicate complex business information to a range of audiences
  • Industry experience in publishing, software, or related content business is preferred

Base Pay Range

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$55,500.00 - $88,800.00 USD
