Job Description


POSITION OVERVIEW

The Festival Publicist, Local Press and Press Lines is charged with organizing local Utah press campaigns and coordinating all accredited media attendees at press lines with film teams for premieres, events, and Institute programs that will be showcased at the Sundance Film Festival.

This temporary position works full time from Monday, October 30, 2023 through Tuesday, January 30, 2024 and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. This position is based out of our Park City, Utah office and will be expected to perform onsite work duties as of Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Employees may start in a commutable distance to Park City, UT or remotely from a state we currently legally operate in, until the required onsite work date listed above.

Top priorities include but are not limited to\xe2\x80\xa6

Developing and identifying local Utah media coverage opportunities, including devising strategy and coordinating interviews.

Managing interviews with local press onsite at the Festival.

Drafting media materials.

Pitching local media Sundance press announcements and feature stories to secure media coverage and create awareness of programming and activities.

Inviting local media to cover and report on special events, talks, and awards.

Liaising with internal team members and external artists to schedule interviews.

Creating briefing sheets for each interview.

Coordinating assets such as film stills, headshots, and video clips for articles.

Collaborating with internal and external teams to aggregate and organize all media confirmations for press lines leading up to and during the Festival; organizing and communicating RSVPs to stakeholders in a timely manner.

Participating onsite at press lines to ensure media confirmations are being accommodated as needed.

Completing a comprehensive written wrap report.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

Legal authorization to work in the United States.

3 years experience in public relations, media relations, or special event publicity.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people.

Ability to prioritize with strong time management skills.

Ability to maintain confidential information.

Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products preferred.

Experience with large event PR and knowledge of film and the film industry preferred.
