Siciliano Farms Job description Looking for an honest, energetic, enthusiastic person to help care for a variety of animals and property. Must be self-motivated, team player with good communication and organizational skills to help operate a farm. Must be able to take direction, have attention to detail and work consistently on repetitive tasks. Full-time, year-round position. Experience not necessary but farm familiarity is a plus. The responsibilities of the Farm Hand include, but are not limited to: Daily feeding and care of livestock (includes ability to trim goat hooves). Monitor livestock for any injuries or sicknesses. Assist with calving, kidding, and doctoring of animals (vaccinations, deworming, induce and synchronize breedings). Barn upkeep (daily sweeping floors). Cleaning stalls/pens. Scrubbing water buckets and animal waterers. Ability to build/repair fences and maintain farm equipment/machinery. Unloading and loading 50lb bags of grain. Grounds keeping, mowing, weed eating, spraying of weeds, gardening and cleaning up tree branches/debris. Typical Physical Demands: Applicants should be comfortable working in an outdoor labor-intensive environment. Work requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretching. Requires lifting 50 pounds regularly. Must be 18 years of age. Siciliano Farms is a drug-free environment, no exceptions, Nonsmoker preferred. Must be willing to perform random drug test. Must have own transportation. Must be able to work holidays and weekends if needed.
