Job Title: Electrician

Department: Maintenance Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Shift: 1st, Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Thursday, 5:00 am \xe2\x80\x93 3:00 pm

Purpose: Support a world class manufacturing environment by performing a variety of maintenance, electrical, and problem solving work

Essential Functions:

  • Installs, maintain, tests and repairs electrical systems such as: electrical circuits, electrical motors, motor controls, electrical panels, lighting, appliances, transformers, and other electrical systems.
  • Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as multimeters, ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or growler.
  • Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
  • Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and amatures.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
  • Estimates time and material costs on electrical projects.
  • Requisitions new electrical supplies and equipment.
  • May orient, train, assign and check the work of lower level employees.
  • Repair and maintain high voltage systems.
  • Licensed, certified electrician in the State of Wisconsin
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics (electrical) for machines and buildings
  • Troubleshoot electrical A/C and D/C circuits
  • Install and relocate equipment using the proper wiring methods
  • Install premise wiring to include installing conduit for electrical services and distribution
  • Work at heights using portable ladders and mobile elevated work plateforms (MEWP)
  • Maintain preventative maintenance programs in assigned areas
  • Plan, implement, and finalize assigned projects with minimal supervision
  • Complete work order records accurately and timely using Maintenance computer software
  • Provide positive feedback for corrective action plans to improve equipment reliability
  • Work in a team oriented atmosphere and work closely with internal customers to meet customer expectations
  • Repair production equipment in a manner such to minimize interruption to production
  • Operation of Overhead Cranes
  • Maintain buildings and grounds as needed
  • Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test and adjust equipment of all types for safe and proper operation
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, and take proper care of tools and equipment
  • Complies with all DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to designated Personal Protective Equipment policies
  • Housekeeping, 6S and other duties as assigned or apparent

Qualifications: Minimum requirements: Complete an industrial electrical degree with minimum of 2 years experience. (Journeyman status). Preferred requirements: Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in electrical engineering with minimum of 2 years experience (Master electrician status).

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:
  • Maintain current Electrician\xe2\x80\x99s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
  • Be able to read blueprints, and flow a plan layout to install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and codes.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as measuring devices, test equipment and power tools.
  • Install ground leads and connecting power cables to equipment.
  • Utilize tools, equipment and materials common to the electrical trade
  • Have knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NFPA 70E & NEC) OSHA NRTL\xe2\x80\x99s, NEMA, ANSI, UL, IEEE, NFPA and IEC.
  • Understand P.L.C. concepts
  • Understand industrial electric symbols and line diagrams, control logic-line diagrams, AC/DC motors, motor starters and motor controllers
  • Complete Arc Flash Training, Champion Electrical Safet Work Practices, and Maintain Arc Flash One-line diagrams
  • Complete annual training for authorized employees in LOTO
  • Work in a team oriented atmosphere and a customer comes 1st attitude
  • Multi-task and prioritize individual work load to minimize equipment downtime
  • Have excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented with excellent work habits
  • Ability to productively work at heights for extended periods
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards
  • Continue education as it applies to technical job requirements
  • Adhere to safety procedures
  • Maintain a pattern of regular and predictable attendance
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

Electrician\xe2\x80\x99s license in the state of Wisconsin
