Job Summary: EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Electrician in Bethesda, MD (6:00am \xe2\x80\x93 2:30pm Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday). The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR facility manager and support him/her to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Primary responsibilities of this position are to be responsible for the electrical needs and general facility maintenance at the facility while performing general maintenance of equipment as required. Knowledge of and capable to perform electrical repairs and various general tasks assigned. Qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and have at least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in facilities electrical maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Communicates effectively with the Facility Manager to determine service needs. Coordinates and supervise client sub-contractors while performing service on site.


Repairs of Walls, Floors, Doors and any general maintenance work for the beautification of the facility.


General repairs of Toilets, Urinals, replace and maintain Valve Assemblies and repair/maintain Sensors for Automatic Flush Kits, as well as all other general type repairs related to the Facility. Responsible for maintenance and repair of air handling equipment at this facility such as vent fans and circulation fans along with supporting electrical circuits.


Maintain a strict electrical PM schedule. Maintains UPS systems, emergency generators, lighting systems, A/C and Heating equipment.


Performs a wide variety of electrical corrective maintenance work request such as ballast and bulb replacements.


Assist other skilled employees to perform projects as requested and assisting in snow removal when necessary.


Perform monitoring of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range.
Qualifications:



Education

HS Diploma, Journeyman Electrical License a Plus


Business Experience

5 years or more of experience related to electrical facility maintenance.


Licenses/Certifications

Valid US driver\xe2\x80\x99s license. Apprentice or Journeyman license a plus. This position will require the successful candidate to obtain/show proof of a complete COVID-19 vaccination.


Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.


Technical Qualifications & Skills

Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use.




Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must have the ability to repair Walls, Floors, Doors and any painting and Touch up work for beautification of facility


Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical systems and equipment at this facility such as Switch gear, transfer switches, UPS and lighting system.


Must maintain a strict electrical PM schedule. Must have the ability to maintain A/C and Heating equipment, change filters and clean coils as needed.


Must have ability to repair and unclog Toilets, Urinals, replace and maintain Valve Assemblies and repair/maintain Sensors for Automatic Flush Kits, as well as all other plumbing related to the Facility. Responsible for maintenance and repair of air handling equipment at this facility such as vent fans and circulation fans.


Organization skills to maintain the client facility maintenance records and reports.


Must perform monitoring of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range.
Physical Demands: The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required. Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitively during shift. Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis. Have the ability to work and maneuver on a variety of terrains. Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to work in confined, restricted and hot areas. We are also responsible for snow removal and there are times in the Winter season when most of the day is spent outdoors in cold/snow conditions. Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
