Job Summary and Qualifications

The Facility Director of Marketing & Communications is an extension of the Division Marketing and Corporate Affairs team working onsite at local hospitals to support promotion of the HCA Healthcare family of brands, as well as the division\xe2\x80\x99s growth agenda. This individual sits on the hospital\xe2\x80\x99s administrative leadership team playing a critical role in representing the HCA Healthcare mission, purpose and strategic vision via the hospital setting, both internally and externally, by identifying opportunities to engage stakeholders through productive communication and relationship building.

The facility director participates in the development and execution of communications and community engagement plans for the hospital\xe2\x80\x99s local market, and supports marketing efforts in alignment with division and corporate/group-developed objectives, strategies and tactics for marketing and corporate affairs. Keeping current in terms of community needs, issues and opportunities relevant to the organization, the director drives collaboration and execution of community engagement activities and serves as the lead hospital communicator.

What you will do in this role:
  • Your role bridges enterprise brand narrative with market/hospital brand to highlight the value of being part of the broader organization.
  • You will assist CEO and other officers with communication needs including messaging related to colleague engagement.
  • Your role supports development and implementation of the strategic PR and Communications plan to meet organizational needs and support hospital business and growth goals.
  • Your role proactively develops content to drive engagement across owned, earned and paid media channels. Proactively pitches compelling stories to local media outlets.
  • You will manage crisis communications and serve as an on-call public information representative.
  • You will stay abreast of hospital news, trends, services and objectives.
  • You will act as a local advocate for the adherence to marketing and communications specific policies in partnership with the Facility Ethics and Compliance Officer.
  • You will consistently monitor patient comments and reviews about the hospital and its physicians in order to provide timely response to positive engagements and speedy service recovery for negative comments/reviews.
  • You will serve as a conduit to communicate enterprise, group and division community engagement strategies to facility leadership.
  • You will drive engagement programs and activities to heighten our positive reputation within the community.
  • You will support strategy for hospitals Board of Trustees regarding composition and engagement.
  • Your role identifies meaningful healthcare-related community engagement activities in the hospital\xe2\x80\x99s service area that complement the organization\xe2\x80\x99s goals.
  • Your role supports and coordinates events and programs in coordination with the Division and hospital goals and designed to raise awareness of the submarket\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities and strengths.
  • Your role supports aspects of colleague community engagement, including giving campaigns for the community and our HCA Healthcare Hope Fund, volunteering and board service in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • You will serve as a conduit to communicate enterprise, group and division marketing strategies to facility leadership.
  • You will provide facility insights to feed division/regional marketing plans, including access to service line leaders, subject matter experts and other key leaders.
  • You will lead local brand management activities to ensure stakeholders are educated, knowledgeable and engaged on our brand strategies, including proper use of logos and marks.
  • You will partner with Division team to activate local marketing and brand strategies.
  • You will act in supportive role for marketing tactics applicable to Physician & Provider Relations/Physician Service Group needs.
  • You will support division/corporate growth agenda.
  • You will partner with the Marketing Services Organization to develop content (includes web and social content) and manage hospital collateral items such as fliers, brochures, rack cards, etc.
What qualifications you will need:
  • 5+ years Experience
  • 1+ years Management Experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree Required
  • Effective management and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Requires presence at the local facility and ability to walk distances necessary within and outside the hospital.
  • Requires the ability to travel from one location to another within the Division. May be needed to work early morning, evening and weekend hours. The position includes overnight travel on an as-needed basis.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to document, develop and communicate necessary information. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 20 pounds occasionally. Work may be stressful at times.
