Come join the Communications team at Volvo Group North America (VGNA) to support the development and implementation of public relations and traditional/social media strategies and tactics for VGNA and the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Mack Truck brand, in order to promote sales, ensure brand strength/distinction, and enhance the company\xe2\x80\x99s reputation. Working in a way that reflects the Volvo Group\xe2\x80\x99s core values and promotes the company\xe2\x80\x99s mission, vision and business strategy, the manager will nurture a strong network inside the organization, the industry and with local and national business, tech and trade media outlets.

In this exciting role you will manage and execute a variety of internal and external events, both in-person and virtual, supporting the business strategies, public relations and employee engagement goals of Mack Trucks, Volvo Trucks and Volvo Group North America. Support the Communications team\xe2\x80\x99s leadership and collaborate with key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement in the design, planning and execution of events that enhance the reputation of the company and our truck brands.

This Is How You Could Make an Impact:

  • Work with Communications department leadership to create, plan and execute best-in-class in-person and virtual event experiences for our key stakeholders.
  • Plan and manage a wide variety of internal and external events, including but not limited to top management meetings, employee Town Halls, press conferences, ride and drives, lunch & learn sessions, and various company announcements.
  • Estimate, negotiate, forecast & manage all event and exhibit expenses and purchase orders while ensuring adherence to allocated budgets, internal processes and company policies.
  • Oversee all pre-planning activities, often including site selection, contract negotiation, and assisting with production of event materials.
  • Manage event logistics including ground transportation, food and beverage, audio/visual needs, equipment and technical support, registration, site management and travel, rooming lists, meeting specifications, materials shipping, etc.
  • Continuously benchmark internal and external best practices and identify and analyze new technologies with the potential to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Post-event responsibilities include complete event historical reports, correspondence with facilities and vendors, ensuring invoices are processed for payment, generating budget reports, compiling and reporting on post-event survey input, and follow up evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support the development and tracking of the department\xe2\x80\x99s overall budget.
  • Perform all additional duties assigned.

Who are you?
You will have a minimum five years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience with a BA/BS degree in Business Communications or marketing or related discipline or equivalent industry experience with a demonstrated level of success. You will have Corporate or B-to-B event management experience preferred. You will have experience with MS Office, Acrobat Professional, & Photoshop preferred.

Other Requirements:
  • Travel required.
