Schlitterbahn (New Braunfels & Galveston) has an opening for an Event Services Associate. Reporting to the Event Services Manager, the Event Services Associate assists the Events team in administrative functions related to coordinating events and supporting group clients. Contributes to the overall accomplishment of the division\xe2\x80\x99s goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Attends catered and non-catered events to act as the liaison for the Event Service Department between the client and park departments. This includes answering questions, providing solutions, and communicating effectively to ensure the event is successful for all attendees.
  • Plans and implements arrangements for all Event Services events. This includes inputting park tickets and/or catering, creation, and dissemination of paperwork to clients and park staff, attending events, and evaluation of events upon completion.
  • Directly impacts Events success ratio through consistent and timely coordination. Tracks assigned events, ticket orders and fulfillment. Ensures all orders are processed efficiently and in a professional manner. Provides successful client/guest service to support Event Services team goals.
  • Assists with completing paperwork and data entry pertaining to pre-planning of events & group outings, confirming all information is accurate.
  • Prepares all paperwork and materials required prior to the start of events and completes a checklist on-site to verify readiness for the event.
  • Communicates directly with clients to provide detailed information regarding their upcoming event.
  • Communicates accurate and timely information to various park staff to ensure arrangements are conducted to meet/exceed clients\xe2\x80\x99 expectations. Acts as a liaison between clients, events staff, and park departments involved with group events.
  • Responsible for assisting with the reconciliation of account balances for all events and programs. Ensures catering invoices are accurate prior to the client\xe2\x80\x99s receipt. Works with accounting to ensure proper billing for all catered events.
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and on-site execution and operations for all special interest group events and youth programs such as Music in the Park.
  • Attends meetings and conferences as required or appropriate.
  • Assists with special projects or assignments directed by the Manager.
  • Ensure required staff and materials are available and prepared for events or activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with departments to ensure the success of events.
  • Assist with the communication of events to Associates and building hype/interest levels.
  • Manage events and addressing potential problems that may arise.
  • Evaluate the success of each activity, event, or outing and identifies opportunities for improvement in the future.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or higher
  • Available till Mid-September
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively in both a team and independent setting.
  • Thorough understanding of event planning practices and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an independent environment with minimum supervision and deliver against set goals.
  • Strong time and project management skills and experience.
  • Good written and oral communication skills; superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Excellent organizational skills.
  • Solid clerical skills and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
Physical Requirements
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, picking, grasping, feeling, talking, and learning.
  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
