JOB SUMMARY Our Escrow Officer prepares the final settlement statement and documents for closing, or delegates to the Escrow Assistant and/or Processor, with ultimate responsibility for the work product. S/He is required to possess the knowledge and experience necessary to efficiently handle any situation that may arise during preparation of the settlement statement and closing documents. This position is also charged with safeguarding all monies entrusted to the Company. This position works closely with all members of the team. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Safeguards all escrow monies entrusted to the Company
Ultimately responsible for accuracy and completeness of all files listed as Escrow Officer on and/or of the Series
Supervises Escrow Assistant and Processor
Assure files balance, prior to closing
Reviews documents needed to prepare settlement statement (i.e., demands, loan documents, and insurance)
Reviews title commitment to assure all requirements have or will be met with closing
Prepares settlement statements for closing, including input of all relevant data and lender figures
Assures lender and company are in balance for funding
Prepares all documents necessary to facilitate closing
Provides further document assistance to Managing Attorney, Staff Attorney, as assigned
Sends settlement statement, once balanced with lender, to Agents for review and approval
Sends settlement figures to Seller, if requested by Listing Agent
Communication with parties as needed
Submits funding package to lender, if required, to obtain authorization to disburse, working in conjunction with the Closer
Receipts, deposits, and disburses all funds from company escrow account
Prepares fee quotes for prospective clients/transactions
Follows company standards and practices when processing transactions, as well as applicable state laws and guidelines
Returns all calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely manner
Review of closing documents prior to closings
Final review of title commitment and settlement statement
Prepare closing file for closings, ensuring all lender closing instructions are followed
Perform closings in office and off-site
Coordinate split closings
Notifies correct party to release outgoing wires when disbursement is appropriate, including submitting funding requirements to lender when necessary
Assists with resolution of post-closing issues
Keeps detailed record of activities within processing software
Possesses knowledge in all areas of escrow and title operations
Conducts self in a manner of professional integrity (e.g., with regard to self, clients, team members, direct supervisors, and local businesses)
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Adheres to company policies and guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Minimum of Five to Ten (5-10) years of experience is preferred. EDUCATION
High School Diploma required
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE
Title Insurance license preferred
