This position\xe2\x80\x99s primary responsibility will be to oversee and lead special community focused projects for the Rhode Island IDeA CTR grant, Advance-CTR. The incumbent will work closely with the Community Engagement and Outreach Core leaders to develop and implement community engagement research programs. The incumbent will lead and implement Community Engagement Studios; lead and support development of the Practice Based Research Network; and serve as the central point of contact between investigators, community members, clinical practices, and the Advance-CTR program.

Advance Clinical and Translational Research (Advance-CTR) was established in 2016 through receipt of an IDeA- CTR Award from the National Institutes of General Medical Sciences. Advance-CTR is a statewide hub supporting clinical and translational researchers in Rhode Island by providing funding, services, and professional development opportunities. We strive to fuel scientific discoveries that improve health and well being in Rhode Island.

This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 7/31/2026 which may be extended based upon available funding.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree
  • 5-7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in community engagement preferably in an academic/medical environment required.
  • Spanish fluency and cultural competency working with Latinx community in Rhode Island is a plus.
  • Preferred history of overseeing community partnerships in Rhode Island.
  • Conversant in RI health priorities and current events.
