DNHH C3 PROJECT RESEARCH ASSISTANT \xe2\x80\x93 ID# 223307. CLOSING DATE: May 11, 2023, or until filled. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), Native Hawaiian Center of Excellence (NHCOE), Department of Native Hawaiian Health (DNHH), located in Honolulu, Hawai\xe2\x80\x98i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: $2,767/Mon. DUTIES: The NHCOE focuses on improving Native Hawaiian Health through diversified programs such as a Cultural Competency Curriculum (C3) Development Project and clinical training for students, staff, and faculty. Assists in the research, development, and implementation of the C3 Development Project, in addition to other NHCOE cultural curriculum and clinical training initiatives. Assists in collection of data such as evaluations and surveys. Performs data transcription, data entry and monitoring quality assurance of database. Assists with data analysis for evaluation purposes based on quantitative and qualitative feedback/evaluations. Schedules and coordinates meetings, classes, workshops, clincial placements, in addition to assisting with day-to-day operations to ensure success of the project. Provides minutes for team meetings and communicates with faculty on project timelines. Attends and assists with classes and cultural immersion activities in support of program objectives. Assists in the coordination of guest speakers and program volunteers. Manages project calendar. Assists with logistics and works closely with NHCOE admin leads to ensure planning and implementation for both on-campus activities and off-campus field activities. Drives to transport equipment and to off-campus educational sites. Assists with literature searches using MEDLINE and PubMed software and preparation of research and curricular related presentations and papers. Assists in the preparation of progress reports and grant applications including data compilation and literature reviews. Duties may include occasional work outside of regularly scheduled hours, including nights and weekends. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. EXPERIENCE One to three (1-3) years of experience in the management of logistics for an educational program, large group event, or research project. KNOWLEDGE Working knowledge of research, such as scientific methodology, data collection, protection of human subjects, and confidentiality. ABILITIES & SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must have strong initiative to identify resources and problem solve. Skilled with common personal computer software for word processing (e.g., MS Word), presentations (e.g., PowerPoint), and database/spreadsheets (e.g., FileMaker Pro and Excel). Must possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license (and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal driver\xe2\x80\x99s insurance equivalent to Hawai\xe2\x80\x98i\xe2\x80\x99s No-Fault Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Insurance) and maintain throughout the duration of employment. SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Education, Hawaiian studies, Indigenous studies, cross cultural education, Public Health, or related health field. Experience working as part of an educational or community-based Native Hawaiian serving organization. Experience in research or community related work in Native Hawaiian health, or social determinants of health. Familiarity and understanding of Native Hawaiian cultural values, practices, beliefs, customs, traditional healing, and Hawaiian language. Familiarity with basic statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS) and ability to do simple statistical analyses. Working knowledge of University fiscal, administrative, or grants management.
