Job Description


The Director, Social Content will be an integrated member of the LEARFIELD Studios leadership team and responsible for branded social media initiatives for a grouping of schools in the LEARFIELD portfolio with an emphasis on content distribution and analysis across the digital and social media landscape. This person will manage a collective of content creators and possess an overarching revenue-driving mindset to support the sustainability of LEARFIELD\'s growing original content initiatives. Responsibilities will include driving social media revenue growth for local properties and national sales, developing organic social media distribution and programming for all editorial and branded content, and exceeding performance goals of all original content to be shared with property, schools, and sponsors. The position will require engaged leadership of a large team, an aptitude of social media content, an understanding of the inner workings of social media platforms, and thoughtful partnership/distribution strategies. The ideal candidate should have a background in audience development and be able to leverage many different social channels to distribute original video series in an optimized way on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and other emerging platforms. The successful candidate will also be responsible for analyzing content performance, building case studies, and producing analytics reports to continually refine the strategy. Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts related to branded social media content by managing a team of content creators that ideate and produce sponsored social content for corporate partners
  • Produce reporting of revenue growth from social media content and content performance for executive leadership, properties, schools, and sponsors
  • Create materials and collateral on evolving social content initiatives including NIL, best practices/strategies, and go-to-market strategies with a focus on distribution, audience development, and analytics
  • Identify and present sellable social content assets by developing strategies, packaging and pricing
  • Collaborate with national partnership teams to identify sponsor objectives, develop and implement scalable solutions that leverage social content assets, and report campaign performance
  • Build and foster relationships with Athletics Marketing and Communications Departments, Sports Information Directors, and key stakeholders to increase visibility and engagement of branded content
  • Develop and implement an effective social media distribution plan for all college sports athletic departments and educate and oversee team members to execute outlined strategies
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of the distribution plan, making adjustments as needed
  • Track and report on social media analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of the distribution plan
  • Collaborate with the college sports athletic departments to develop and maintain content that is engaging and appropriate for distribution
  • Communicate with internal PR and Marketing teams to promote campaigns nationally
  • Work with Post-Production Manager to properly organize, communicate, and archive all distributed content in one central location
  • Monitor the performance of competitors and other industry leaders to benchmark performance
  • Social media subject matter expert! Maintain full understanding of each social media platform and how to effectively engage followers while staying on top of the latest trends and advancements and implement new strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree
  • 10+ years\' experience in social media strategy, content development roles
  • 4+ years experience managing a team \xe2\x80\x93 Remote management a plus
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and analytics tools
  • Social media visionary with highly-attuned business acumen who has developed creative and effective social campaigns to meet client/brand needs
  • Strategic in nature with the ability to articulate social media strategies to sales teams, sponsor partners and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience working within leading (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat) and emerging social platforms with a clear understanding of best practices
  • Understand platform tools to analyze data and decipher insights to evaluate branded content executions
  • Solution-minded when managing obstacles \xe2\x80\x93 overcoming objections with resolutions and a positive attitude
  • Excellent organization, time management and communication skills
  • Previous experience in sports industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of design, video editing/production and apps in the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Travel to partner sites when needed
Pay Transparency The approximate base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and/or sales compensation. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience as well as geographic location.
