The Director of Content Strategy & Publications in University Communications and Marketing oversees the development and implementation of content plans that deliver on brand and business goals, including working with a team of talented writers to mine the best possible brand stories, ensuring coordination and communication across teams including web, social media, photo and video, and marketing strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, the Director will have direct oversight of the Publications Manager and Editor and Chief of OHIO Today, the Director of the OHIO Student News Bureau and will collaborate closely with the Social Media and Content Marketing Manager and others on UCM\xe2\x80\x99s digital team to design and execute comprehensive content plans. This position is located on Athens campus and is not eligible for fully remote work.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or similar
  • Greater than 8 years of work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience.




Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptional news judgment and a backround in strategic planning
  • Strong content editing and knowledge of AP Style
  • Experience working in Drupal CMS
  • Knowledge of email marketing and distribution
  • Background in social media content creation, delivery and measurement
  • Experience in media relations and/or crisis communication
