Position Summary

The Director, Partnerships (HCP) has responsibilities including managing Convention activation, HCP Journal campaigns, negotiating buys, checking preliminary and final post buy delivery, and tracking performance. The individual is tasked with developing and maintaining strong client relationships as well as media owner ones.


Key Responsibilities

Client

  • Deliver thoughtful HCP Conventions and Print recommendations to clients
  • Provide superior service by answering Conventions and print questions in a clear & timely manner
  • Collaborate with Comms Design, Analytics and Client Advice and Management to ensure alignment with and delivery against client goals
  • Update status documents for client meetings

Internal
  • Guide print team on how to approach negotiations and assist team member(s) when they hit a roadblock - offer new approaches that Negotiator can take to problem solve
  • Effectively manages time and responsibilities for self, to ensure deadlines are adhered to and workflow is managed properly
  • Responsible for double checking all of team\'s work
  • Excellent communication skills with vendors and management (keeps management updated with progress/completion of projects)
  • Collaborate with other disciplines/SBUs to integrate and execute seamlessly - begin/assist in problem solving to generate positive results
  • Participates in meetings with internal team & external partners, by asking and answering questions, has the ability to lead when necessary

Commercial
  • Develop and maintain media partner relationships
  • Negotiate pricing that reflects efficiencies and client\xe2\x80\x99s objectives/targets
  • Check/manage client billings, approve monthly billing drafts within deadlines
  • Ensures and advocates for agency partner relationships by taking meetings, responding quickly to emails and voicemails, providing rationale when we are unable to work with a partner




Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree and related field equivalent work experience (7-10 years within a media agency)
  • Experience in Conventions is required
  • Proven leadership ability and/or prior experience in supervising a team preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Desktop software, specifically Excel and Word, PowerPoint preferred
  • Strong developed relationships with the Publishers
  • Ability to work successfully within a team, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to effectively utilize media research and reporting resources
  • Specific Print Media Tools \xe2\x80\x93 Kantar, MBOX, SRDS

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee\xe2\x80\x99s/applicant\xe2\x80\x99s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
