As a Director of Product Cybersecurity , you and your team will assist in strength security posture of Cepheid Product Portfolio & Services Performing activities related to various aspects of security including, but not limited to vulnerability intelligence, threat hunting, application security testing, security architecture, adversarial intelligence, and others.

The Product Cybersecurity team at Cepheid ensures the security of our products & services and are the domain experts for our R&D Engineering teams to protect our customers data in today s dynamic threat landscape. You will be responsible for translating technical end-to-end data and security approaches for Cepheid product and service portfolio, aligning with industry compliance and security controls. This position is a leader in culture with a passion for security, ability to connect with and encourage your team, in-depth knowledge of Product Security and Cloud Security will ensure that you deliver high impact results.

This position is part of the Software Product Security Group and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA or USA Remote. At Cepheid, Delivering A Better Way to improve patient outcomes by enabling access to molecular diagnostic testing everywhere.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provides cybersecurity leadership and direction within Cepheid supporting the continuity of product/customer security strategies.
  • Serves as a cyber security interface with Engineering, Legal, customer care, Regulatory, Quality, and other cross functional leaders in the identification, translation and communication of applicable product & service cyber security risks and initiatives as applicable to cepheid global cybersecurity postures.
  • Makes recommendations and assists in the implementation of changes to work methods and procedures to make them more effective or to strengthen cybersecurity measures.
  • Work on a wide range of technologies/tools and complex architectural/technical challenges.
  • Be an advocate for cybersecurity, participate in a security champions program and responsible for advancing the cephid products & services in medical device industry.
  • Coordinates with the Cepheid Privacy/Legal teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA, U.S. state laws, GDPR and other applicable laws.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor s degree with 9+ years in product security OR Master s degree in field with 7+ years of related work experience.
  • Three (3) years experience managing team.
  • Deep understanding of security control frameworks and applicable regulations such as HIPAA/HITECH, ISO 27001, ISO 27017/18, NIST 800-53 and HITRUST certifications
  • Demonstrated success and influence in the Product Security and Cloud Security space.
  • Experience defining security policy, technology requirements, and control objectives.
  • In-depth experience identifying and protecting against web application and web service security vulnerabilities including those found in the OWASP Top 10 and CWE Top 25.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations related to cybersecurity and their applicability to medical device systems

The salary range for this role is $190K to $210K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
