The Arc of Union County, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c (3) organization headquartered in Springfield, NJ, dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Under the guidance of the Assistant Executive Director Clinical Services the Director, Clinical is responsible for the implementation and facilitation of nursing service delivery strategies approved by the Executive Designee. The incumbent collaborates with the administration, utilizes, and facilitates resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each service recipient to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support and coordinate service recipient\'s care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of the agency.

  • Has full responsibility and accountability for all assigned clinical aspects delivered throughout agency programs as assigned. The incumbent is responsible for providing nursing services to service recipients, development and implementation of preventive health services for individuals with developmental disabilities within The Arc of Union County, Inc.
  • Develop operational plan for the Associate Designee\'s review including but not limited to strategies for facilitating appropriate admissions processes, increasing the quality of clinical service delivery, identification of service recipients who are beyond the scope of our practice.
  • Maintain knowledge and operate with a sense of awareness to Healthcare Supports Unit operational goals and objectives and fully vested to their implementation to meet fulfill agency\'s strategic plan.
  • Oversee the nursing delivery and provide direction, leadership, and oversight to the Clinical Team.
  • Oversees Nursing team, works with other directors in coordinating healthcare services, representing Healthcare Supports in vetting referrals and reviews at Admissions Committees and ensuring departmental healthcare changing needs data is recorded timely, intervenes, or follows through on data statics, metrics, and/or results promptly. Assures dashboards are available promptly for administration analysis.
  • Ensure that the clinical service delivery is consistent with agency, state, federal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Direct all clinical services as per agency scope of practice and provide overall coordination and evaluation.
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide high quality evidence-based nursing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other associated multimorbidity.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and implementation of clinical practices that conform to current standards of care, agency philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and application of Key Clinical Quality Indicators, and proactively monitor and implement systems to achieve and/or surpass expected thresholds.
  • Maintain ongoing monitoring and documentation of residents\' health needs, identify emerging health needs and provide appropriate guidance and interventions.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of preventive health services for individuals with developmental disabilities within The Arc of Union County, Inc. Facilitate and perform health assessments for individuals served utilizing the nursing process and within the scope of practice.
  • Oversee the ongoing monitoring and documentation of resident\'s health needs, identify emerging health needs and provide appropriate guidance and interventions.
  • Promotes a safe, secure, and dependable environment promoting a higher quality of life for service recipients. Considers the unique characteristics and needs of each individual as expressed by the individual and others who know the person, such as family, friends, service providers, etc. Maintain a positive, healthy, and stimulating therapeutic environment for service recipients.
  • Develop operational plan for the Associate Designee\'s review including but not limited to strategies for facilitating appropriate admissions processes, increasing the quality of clinical service delivery, identification of service recipients who are beyond the scope of our practice, correlate quality of care with agency stability, and overall growth. Facilitate new clinical initiatives, market the agency, and enhance innovative ideas.
  • Maintain knowledge and operate with a sense of awareness to Healthcare Supports Unit operational goals and objectives and fully vested to their implementation to meet fulfill agency\'s strategic plan.

Qualifications:
  • Master\'s degree in nursing required and a current R.N. License.
  • 10 or more years\' experience working in a long-term care setting with significant clinical experience in a related field serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Minimum 4 years of successful middle level to upper management supervisory experience required.
  • Maintain Current New Jersey Nurses License by enrolling in CEUs.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of knowledge, abilities and skills outlined above. Thorough knowledge of all DDD, CMS, CARF, CQL, Adult Day Habilitation Certification standards and other external regulations and requirements.
  • Must have strong management, leadership, planning and communication skills. Flexibility and sense of humor. Demonstrate ability to thrive and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced, and demanding environment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have a valid New Jersey driver\'s license and abstract (not to exceed 5 points), and ability to meet agency insurability requirements. Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks
