General Description:

The Director is responsible for promoting and demonstrating Parrish Healthcare\xe2\x80\x99s Culture of Choice\xc2\xae; actively and effectively participates in ensuring strategic goals and objectives are met or exceeded; provides the management and oversight necessary to ensure assigned functional area(s) \xe2\x80\x93 Materials Management Department - have the proper resources, metrics and talent in place to effectively fulfill our mission to provide Healing Experiences for Everyone all the Time\xc2\xae and achieve organizational strategic (Game Plan) goals. This role directs supply chain, purchasing, strategic sourcing, receiving, and distribution functions; has responsibility for the storeroom, mailroom, supply courier, and various medical supply inventories. The Director assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for assigned functional area(s). This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Acute Care Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HEALING COMMUNITIES | GROWTH
  • Directs operational planning within assigned functional area(s)\xe2\x80\x94Materials Management Department\xe2\x80\x94to anticipate current and future service solutions; administers the competitive solicitation process according to Florida Statutes; creates RFQ/Proposal analysis and makes recommendations; negotiates contracts and maintains contract files for specified categories. Manages high level sourcing strategy in conjunction with supply chain leadership; and ensures proper implementation of all negotiated contracts and ensures contracts as assigned are current and effective.
  • Assures the achievement of departmental dashboard metrics within each strategic pillar (People, Service, Quality, Growth, Finances); takes immediate and effective steps to assure national benchmarks are achieved or sustained.
  • HEALING EXPERIENCES | SERVICE
  • Leads and develops departmental systems, processes, policies and procedures that result in assigned area of responsibility and care partners always providing excellent, healing patient, family, and visitor experiences as measured by HCAHPS and/or other national best-practice benchmarks.
  • SYSTEM RELIABILITY | QUALITY & SAFETY
  • Directs systems, processes, policies and procedures that result in a continuous improvement environment within which assigned area(s) and care partners always achieve national best/leading-practice standards for quality and safety as measured by CMS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies pertinent to areas of responsibility; holding self and others accountable for actions and outcomes.Utilizes our GPO to the highest extent possible to the financial advantage of PHC.
  • Responsible for the adherence to all organizational policies and procedures as well as regulations and codes established by federal, state, and local governments affecting professional practice and industry regulations.
  • Leads necessary certification, accreditation, and audit procedures; and ensures that reports required by regulatory agencies are prepared and submitted within established timeframes.

  • Manages systems, processes, policies and procedures that result in effective planning and administration of annual budget(s); productive, cost efficient and effective operations within assigned functional area(s); and effective corrective actions for any operating expenses that deviate from budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.
Requirements:

Formal Education:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required. (Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field) from an accredited university. Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred
Work Experience:
  • Greater than 7 years of relevant experience; >3 years of leadership experience
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (within first year)
  • AHRMM Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred
