Description:

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the Human Resource and Payroll functions. The Director will be responsible for maintaining staffing levels throughout the organization, providing training and continued employee education, ensuring mandatory compliance with all company, FMCA and DOT policies and procedures, assisting the safety department compliance related issues, and overseeing all benefit and 401K administration functions.

  • Maintains organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish company goals
  • Maintenance of Safety Reporting and Training program
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations and policies
  • Oversees compensation programs to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Coordinates company equal opportunity programs at both local, state, and federal level
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to benefit program
  • Develops and coordinates grievances and mediates workplace disputes
  • Recommends and establishes Company policies and procedures
  • Works with department managers to develop long term business plans
  • Manage the Human Resources including training, performance evaluations, recruitment, terminations, recognition programs, benefits administration, workers\' compensation, safety department administration oversight, etc.
Requirements:
  • 8 - 10 years progressive experience
  • Past supervisory experience required
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize a must
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent team building, conflict resolution, group interaction, & interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning & Human Resources Management
  • Extensive knowledge of Human Resources laws & regulations
  • Familiar with OSHA and ADA requirements
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of DOT, Federal Motor Carrier and FTA rules and regulations
  • Experience managing Payroll (Paylocity a plus)
  • Proficient in project & budget management
  • Ability to determine the key issues in particular operational situations
  • Able to develop appropriate plan of action from multi-disciplinary perspective
  • Experience with HR/PR responsibilities for multiple work sites at a time
  • Experience in selecting, hiring, training and retaining, qualified candidates for employment
  • Experience in managing employee performance reviews
  • Experience with insurance management and final decision making (Medical/ACA, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, STD insurance, ancillary benefits, etc.)
Minimum Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resources minimum (Masters\' preferred)
  • HR Certification Required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
