PRIMARY PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY:
Dominican University is seeking a Director of Career Curriculums & Employer Relations to manage the university-wide career development curriculum and assist with employer relations management. Reporting to the Executive Director of Career Programs and Employer Relations, this individual will be responsible for managing the curriculum, including hiring and training adjunct instructors, and coordinating with employer recruitment events that are embedded into the career development curriculum.
Recently, a newly revised Core Curriculum was approved that will make it required for all undergraduate Dominican University students to enroll in a sequence of four unique one-credit hour career development courses and a required internship beginning in academic year 2024-2025. Currently, one of our four colleges, the Brennan School of Business, at Dominican has fully implemented this unique career development model and at least one major/program in each of our four colleges began piloting the model during the 2022-2023 academic year.
This is an exciting time for Dominican University and the Career Programs team. In 2023, the Career Development Program was the Cooperative Education and Internship Association Best Practices Award. The Career Programs team was also awarded the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2023 Career Services Excellence Award in the \xe2\x80\x9cSmall School\xe2\x80\x9d category.
This is hybrid position requiring at least three-days per week on campus. Depending on events, meetings, and other priorities, more than three days for a given week may be required. Occasional nights and weekends may also be required. This position may also travel to meet with employers and/or present information about the career development program to external audiences.
