As the Director of Materials & SIOP you will have responsibility for developing, introduction and maturing of an industry standard SiOP model across the Business Unit as well as having oversight and management of functional areas or teams, including demand planning, supply planning, master scheduling, materials management, inventory forecasting, financial reconciliation and administering the SIOP process, once the standard work and processes are incorporated. This key leadership position also includes facilitating the monthly Executive SIOP review up to and including the VPGM level value stream. The position interacts regularly with leaders and teams responsible for production control, receiving, shipping, warehousing / supermarkets, line feeding / materials handling and inventory control. This position manages a team of experienced professionals and leaders/managers across portfolios. This role owns short (three month) to medium term (24 month) plans and strategy aligned to the 5 year strategic plan (SFP). Leaders are expected to respond to difficult and complex issues related to their business unit (BU), both co-ordinating and collaborating with Senior Leaders and peers to drive significant process and systems improvements in the Materials & SIOP functions across the Mission Systems business unit. This role focuses on achieving relevant inventory levels aligned to the BU\xe2\x80\x99s customer and stakeholder expectations, cost targets, materials management strategies and initiatives. The Materials & SIOP leader will participate and support Materials & SIOP governance, as well as coach and develop employees in all areas (direct and indirect), including applicable aspects of CORE and continuous improvement. This position can be worked remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Set strategic direction, plan and execute on short to medium term strategies and projects (up to 2 years) for materials management across the sites and value streams.
  • Manage the Leadership Development Review (LDR) process for the Materials & SIOP organization in collaboration with matrix managers, including hiring, talent development and succession planning.
  • Responsible for evaluating, coaching, guidance and identifying learning opportunities to all Materials & SIOP staff members (direct and indirect).
  • Ensure materials governance compliance through the adherence to company rules, policies, guidelines, audits for the site.
  • Establish leading key performance indicators associated with materials management performance and reports and oversee corrective and preventive countermeasures.
  • Establish processes to optimize SIOP, capacity planning and production control aligned with applicable policy and established inventory and delivery goals for the sites and value streams.
  • Engage and collaborate on Materials projects and initiatives across the Mission Systems \xe2\x80\x93 Integrated Solutions organization.
  • Drive SAP planning parameter compliance and process adherence within scope of work.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Managerial experience in materials or related fields
  • ERP/MRP systems and process experience
  • Continuous improvement skills (Lean, Six Sigma or CORE)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Negotiation skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations to Senior and Executive Leaders
  • Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Logistics, Business, Finance or Industrial Engineering degrees preferred
  • SAP systems and process experience
  • Strong analytics, numerical and reasoning skills
  • Skilled at building teams and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment
  • Change management leadership, certification, training and experience
