As the global market leader in simulation software, Ansys is growing our Go-to-Market Strategy and Transformation team. The Director, GTM Strategy and Transformation will join a growing team of strategy and transformation professionals within our commercial organization and will play a pivotal role in working closely with our C-level executive team to shape and enhance Ansys s GTM strategy. The key responsibilities of this role are to 1) run our C-level rhythm for GTM strategy projects and lead a portfolio of agenda initiatives to accelerate our organic growth, improve how we operate, and support decision-making and execution on our most important issues and 2) responsible for the successful evaluation, integration of acquisitions into the Ansys sales ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is an experienced consulting leader who can quickly develop a deep understanding of our business and lead a broad set of strategic efforts. Whether it be homing in on Board-level messaging or driving enterprise-scale transformation projects, intercepting and accelerating growth for specific business lines, or leading evolutionary shifts to integrate global and go-to-market sales coverage, selling strategies, account level team integrations and sales processes, this role requires someone who is dynamic, adaptable, and has a passion for solving multi-layered business challenges.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the continued evolution of Ansys GTM/Commercial strategy.
  • Take C-level initiatives and long-term goals and translate them into tangible business strategy programs that are designed to create value and impact.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through M&A to assess sales coverage, developing and aligning strategies and implementation, across global sales regions and account segmentation to maximize ROI from direct, channel partners, remote sales, online sales and joint selling in partnership go-to-market models.
  • Partner and collaborate with Sales, Finance, Operations, Enablement, and other key stakeholder groups, influence effectively across all areas and levels of the organization to implement and execute strategy programs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Sales team efficiencies, and lead efforts to scale best practices across segments and regions.
  • Lead process and system integration aspects include all related sales processes for forecasting, deal registration, deal timing and related aspects for financial governance. Included are short-term alignment across CRM systems and overall sales requirements and strategy for global CRM integration.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to various members of Sales Leadership team, helping define and deliver on the sales strategy and program across the business.
  • Develop and lead sales team integration strategies for acquisitions and go-to-market partnerships.
  • Develop and implement strategies for maximizing effectiveness including direct, indirect, overlay sales models and joint selling in partnerships.
  • Directly drive and align business forecasting and related business processes and governance.
  • Global sales resource for acquisition related customer contracts, deal timing and pricing
  • Lead sales communications related to acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Act as the global reference and leading business resource for all acquisitions. Develop a keen understanding of what does and does not work with in Ansys and with our customers. Cultivate a deep knowledge of cultural and geographic subtleties related to business, finance and legal topics that impact sales success. Convey that knowledge to the Ansys executive team and help them understand how, when, and where to invest to improve success.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • Bachelor s degree from a top-tier university. MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of strategy experience with a top-tier management consulting firm (Must have had experience at an Engagement Manager level)
  • Significant experience with global sales, sales operations, and / or marketing program management
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Direct experience designing and implementing GTM programs such as annual sales planning, segmentation, coverage model design, account selection, account-planning, compensation strategy etc.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales environment - including sales organizational structures, direct and indirect channel, sales systems, and industry data used in developing go-to-market strategies.
  • Effective project management skills, clarifying and handling scope, effectively structuring work, developing work-plans, engaging partners/peers (within the Sales organization and beyond) effectively & timely.
  • Ability to work with sales leaders and account managers - balancing the need to drive corporate initiatives with empathy and change management sensitivity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills - ability to frame business problems, break them down into logical components, design and execute analyses to inform solutions and communicate insights with a bias towards action.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to construct and articulate impactful messages/insights from complex analysis.
