Job Description


Our Team:

The Director, Business Operations and Planning (BOP) is responsible for overseeing the execution and delivery of all US Business Operations & Shared Services (BOS) functional deliverables in the Business Unit including Commercial Strategy & Insights, Commercial Training, Commercial Operations, Portfolio Operations & Launch Management, Data Management and Field Support activities. The goal of the role is to be a strategic partner who accelerates Business Unit performance through innovative operational process optimization and provides day-to-day support across all BOS functional areas.

This BOP will also work in close collaboration with US Business Unit leadership team General Manager (GM), Marketing Heads, Sales Head and BOS stakeholders to support the development and execution of a strategic roadmap, focusing on the key initiatives of the brand plan and identifying approaches for enhancing brand performance. The successful candidate will align and collaborate with all BOS Functional Leaders to ensure excellence in execution of BOS deliverables while identifying business efficiencies and developing innovative solutions to address market, industry, and brand opportunities.

The Director, Business Operations and Planning will report to the Head, Business Operations & Planning with strong accountability to the Head of US Business Operations & Shared Services as well as Business Unit General Manager and their Leadership Team.

Main Responsibilities:

Overall accountability to set the strategy, vision and establish direction for the prioritization and execution of Business Operations objectives.

Maintain run state of key business operations activities \xe2\x80\x93 staffing, budget creation/alignment, vision, prioritization and execution.

Key contact and primary stakeholder manager for Business Unit as it relates to BOS - inline or new initiatives.

Participate in BOS & Business Unit Leadership meetings, providing Insight and Operational expertise.

Coordination of Sales Operations activities including Quarterly Business Activities, Veeva enhancements, data/reporting enhancements, Field triggers, etc.

Partner and collaborate with BOS Functional Leaders during budget, forecast and strategic plan submissions for Business Operations and the Business Unit as it pertains to Business Operations activities. Ensure all allocations are reviewed for accuracy.

Create opportunities for efficiencies in brand performance through process improvements, vendor leverage and data analysis, partnering with the brand to implement solutions and track ROI.

Advocate, champion and lead the ongoing portfolio of business and technology driven projects and programs. Recommend changes and make suggestions to BOS and Business Unit teams using Insights and Operational expertise to drive increased performance.

State of the Business (SotB) coordination of cross-functional presentation of insights package ahead of Brand Planning

Collaborate with colleagues in similar roles, cross-business unit to ensure best practice sharing, drive consistency and efficiencies, and effective leverage of support teams.

In select projects the BOP role will be a liaison with other groups such as ITS BP, Finance BP, Trade, Value & Access, Global BOS and Patient Services when there is no clear-cut contact within BOS or when a project spans BOS functions.

About You:

7+ years of experience in Biotechnology or Pharmaceuticals; Dermatology, Respiratory, and Gastroenterology experience a plus

Undergraduate degree, MBA preferred

Previous experience working in an operations functional area including Forecasting & Analytics, Sales Support, Data Management, Commercial Operations, Portfolio Operations & Launch Management, Commercial Training and Market Research is preferred

Demonstrated leadership ability to drive change within an organization, cultivating support and maximizing contribution from team members

Experience leading without authority in a matrix environment

Collaboration, conceptual and innovation skills

Excellent presentation skills, ability to tell a story supported by facts

Impact and influence competencies

Strong written and verbal communication skills
