We are currently seeking a Development Analyst to join our growing team. The role is based in Norfolk, VA, and will provide support in all areas of real estate investment and development. Opportunities for future advancement are significant and will be earned as the candidate demonstrates mastery of his or her responsibilities. The successful candidate can expect to be exposed to acquisition of land and income-producing assets, rehabilitation and repositioning of existing properties, and ground up development. By leveraging complex capital resources, the role will be involved with the capitalization of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) multifamily residential projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work closely with a Development team that oversees all facets of ground up development including feasibility, project due diligence, preconstruction development, construction, and stabilization.

2. Responsible for preliminary pro forma underwriting and various impactful ad hoc analysis.

3. Support competitive processes to gain award of incentives and subsidy such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), low interest rate loans and other capital resources.

4. Contribute significantly to preliminary feasibility of development projects in varied localities through research of zoning, municipal processes, market comparables, contract analysis, capital resources, and other potentially complex subjects.

5. Some travel is required to visit communities and offices throughout the region, and to attend training classes, business meetings, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.

5. Bachelor\'s Degree with strong financial and business acumen.

6. Proficiency in MS Excel (required) and exposure to Smartsheet (preferred)

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

  • Bending, kneeling, stretching, climbing stairs and ladders, squatting, and lifting up to sixty (60) pounds.
NON-ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
  • Running and lifting over sixty (60) pounds.
