Classify, rate, and input cargo information checked in into mainframe terminals to determine customer charges. Assist Operations in the movement of cargo arriving from the Neighbor Islands (NI). Notify customers of cargo availability and direct them to the appropriate pickup area. Retrieves and prepares pouch for outgoing cargo. To assist Operations in the movement of cargo going to the Neighbor Islands. This is achieved by making reservations for cargo.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
Classify and input all Bills of Lading to include but not limited to YB, GBL, and ACT, according to
Rates all cargo checked in by YB Freight Clerks for the purpose of billing Rates all cargo on YB tariff, to include employee shipments, gratis, in-trade agreements and company business.
Processes payments for all prepaid and collect shipments; prepares deposits and cash
Perform cashiering functions to include, but not limited to, coding, classifying, freight bill and/or payment; provide information regarding collection of payment to other ports or department rating and issuing freight
Provide customers with information on freight
Prepare freight adjustments as
Code and extend measurements for the purpose of calculating the applicable
Process all payments in various forms accepted by the Company to include credit card form, fax, email, in-person, check, and
Do daily incoming cargo phone
Answer all calls regarding incoming
Stamp and file Bills of Lading (BLs) for incoming cargo and other incoming correspondence.
Distribute BLs to customers and direct them to appropriate pick up location as
Collect BLs and other documents from various CS personnel and FC stations in the yard and distribute
File BLs and other correspondence (Bonded, mail, etc.) for outgoing barges in its appropriate pouch folders and prepare outgoing pouches for courier or barge
Take payment information via phone, fax or email for incoming cargo.
Prepare correspondence to customers utilizing Microsoft "Word" and "Outlook."
Prepare various spreadsheets utilizing Microsoft "Excel."
Prepare BLs for imaging
Maintain files of EPA Haz Waste Manifests and copy all Haz
Bill storage charges for all late cargo
Bills miscellaneous charges for incoming
Prepare and mail (certified) abandon letter for abandoned
Maintain WIP in FACE for cash
Order office supplies, documents (BLs, Haz, Blank freight bills) and other office necessities as needed
Makes reservations for
Assists customers with reservations inquiries and general shipping and rate
Files and maintains the booking
Inputs container numbers into the Connecting Carriers Tracking
Provides information about proper shipping requirements and documents for motorized
Provides information about hazardous cargo
Updates standing container
Provides support to the Customer Service Department
Continue to service Customer Stations with any active
Assist customers, YB employees, etc. with creating bookings for any all cargo that require such
Reconciliation/shipping maintenance.
Monday through Friday shifts ranging from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm as required by operational needs, Saturdays by operational needs on rotation, and overtime as required.

Must be familiar with cargo tariff, sailing schedule, freight charge extensions and processing of Bill of Ladings. Ability to be Customer Service focused and multi tasked oriented. Good listening and communication skills required (verbal, reading, and writing) that allow clear and precise transfer of information.
Education/Training
High School degree or GED equivalent required.
Experience
General office experience preferred. 1 year Customer Service oriented background preferred.
