Position Purpose Northland is looking for a Corporate Communications Coordinator to join our growing team. The investor relations team plays an integral role serving our external stakeholders. This role will support the communications surrounding the Northland brand management at a corporate level led by the Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. This will be a highly collaborative role and responsibilities will include partnership with our external PR company for content management, drafting of internal or external communications on the organization\xe2\x80\x99s successful execution of acquisitions, philanthropic participation, industry award applications, and actions surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Success in the role is driven by the ability to curate relevant topic content in addition to supporting graphic design for corporate social media content.
Essential Functions The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary.
  • Develop the company\xe2\x80\x99s communication in partnership with VP Investor Relations & Corporate Communication, for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with senior management, marketing, and the external PR company to craft press releases associated with asset acquisitions, project achievements, award recognition, corporate impact events, and key organizational changes and updates.
  • Proofread and edit content as needed and serve as an exemplary writer in creating content consistent with Northland\xe2\x80\x99s tone and objectives.
  • Support the PR company in generating content associated with recognition and exposure opportunities including award applications in targeted industry publications or membership groups.
  • Assists the IR & Corporate Communication team in development and execution of Northland\xe2\x80\x99s social media strategy and publications.
  • Assist with the design and content creation of DEI related events for Northland\xe2\x80\x99s social media.
  • Working on special projects as needed, which would include supporting the team in drafting investor-oriented content such as case studies and investment summaries.
Job Requirements:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in communication, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field with at least two years of experience in communication responsibilities OR the equivalent combination of experience and education is required. Agency experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of real estate industry is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a high-level of attention to detail; this includes the ability to communicate effectively with Northland stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently based on business needs.
  • Competency with a variety of software and applications, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML, WordPress, and Canva Enterprise.
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to multitask and respond to internal stakeholders simultaneously.
