Northrop Grumman Corporation is seeking a Corporate Citizenship Representative to join our Corporate Citizenship team; the position will be located in Irving, TX or Falls Church, VA, but will also be responsible for remote support for the states of CT, MA, MO, NY, OH, OK, RI, TX and other communities, as assigned. Position reports to the Manager of Corporate Citizenship. Corporate Citizenship is part of the Global Corporate Responsibility team and is responsible for community initiatives that align with Northrop Grumman\xe2\x80\x99s business goals. By providing financial, in-kind, and volunteer resources, the Corporate Citizenship team works to build stronger communities where our employees live and work and where our customers are located. These efforts are concentrated on the following strategic focus areas: K-12 education, specifically in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), military and veterans, health and human services, and the environment/sustainability. Diversity, equity, and inclusion is an important overlay to all of our engagement efforts. While the candidate\xe2\x80\x99s work location and primary site responsibility will be in Irving, TX or Falls Church, VA, the candidate also will assist with other Northrop Grumman communities and projects as assigned. The candidate will develop community partnerships to strengthen our communities, build the talent pipeline, and create engagement opportunities for company leadership and employees. Candidate should have a complete understanding of corporate citizenship principles, practices, and standards; an understanding of charitable grants, preferably with a focus on local underrepresented communities; familiarity or experience partnering with non-profit organizations; and experience with budget management and development. The position will liaise and consult with Northrop Grumman executives, representatives, employee engagement representatives, and employee resource groups at key sites within the geographic region to provide support for implementing and promoting the enterprise corporate citizenship strategy and programming at the local level. The candidate should be a self-starter and problem solver with excellent organization skills. Responsibilities include:
  • Efficient and effective allocation of company resources, both human and financial, in support of strategic Enterprise and Global Corporate Responsibility (GCR) goals and local needs.
  • Proactive information-gathering on local issues, needs, and leading service providers particularly as they related to underserved populations, and as they relate to the four strategic focus areas, with an emphasis on STEM Education and Military/Veterans.
  • Relationship-building that prioritizes engagement with non-profit organizations and public schools that integrate charitable giving and employee volunteering, demonstrate measurable impact, and support Enterprise-level partnerships.
  • Consultation with local site leaders in your geographic region to understand site strategy, local hiring challenges, and goals for community engagement; serve as a trusted advisor to local executive leadership regarding local employee and community engagement opportunities.
  • Engagement with Employee Experience staff, Employee Resource Group (ERG) leaders, other GCR team members, and ambassador teams to facilitate local employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure all local community engagement plans, activities and tactics are consistent with the company\xe2\x80\x99s values and corporate citizenship strategy and reflect favorably on Northrop Grumman and the Northrop Grumman Foundation.
  • Data collection and storytelling. Liaise and consult with Enterprise program leads to accurately collect performance measures and supporting stories/talking points to demonstrate alignment and execution of strategy.
  • Effective utilization of internal systems, such as grant and volunteer management platforms, to process charitable contributions in a timely manner, facilitate employee volunteer opportunities, and provide accurate impact reporting data.
  • Support information-sharing and collaboration across GCR and with key internal partners (Comms, Sustainability, HR, Legal).
  • Represent Corporate Citizenship at local/regional/national events in support of Enterprise engagement goals, as directed.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development around corporate responsibility, charitable giving, employee volunteerism, and staying up to date on issues relevant to the four strategic focus areas.
  • Undertake discrete projects as directed.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in communication, education, public relations or related field with 10 years of relevant experience; 8 years with Master\xe2\x80\x99s. Additional relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, make independent decisions, and solve problems
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate program implementation and volunteers remotely
  • Understanding of best practices in corporate citizenship and philanthropy
  • Experience implementing nonprofit programs with a focus on administering STEM or Military-Veteran programs; or related life experience
  • Experience working with non-profits, public schools, executive leadership, and diverse populations
  • Strong organization skills and proven program and event management experience
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Requires travel to assigned communities and support for weekend and evening events
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior active-duty military service
  • Familiarity with the local charitable giving landscape of communities within the assigned geographic region
  • Corporate Citizenship certification(s)
  • Experience with a grants management system
  • Proficiency with reading and writing the Spanish language
This position reports to Irving, TX, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Falls Church, VA, VA, USA.


Salary Range: $92,900 USD - $146,000 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
