The Maintenance Service Representative will support Maintenance and Repair (M&R) activities on systems/equipment deployed and fielded. The Maintenance Service Representative will Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) when communicating and collaborating with [ILD] Service Management team members, Program Office members, CBP Officers, Agents, and/or Personnel in the Field in gathering and disseminating information regarding repair status/information.

This position requires quality communication skills and tact, to generate and understand data calls, and the ability to determine and resolve data processing problems. This position applies technical knowledge primarily as it applies to equipment and maintenance tracking skills in areas, like record-keeping, disparate system synchronization, or maintenance scheduling.


In this position, the incumbent works independently under overall project objectives and requirements and apprises the supervisor about progress and unusual complications. Guidance may come from different sources than tasking.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the group to the MDC, Service Management team members, and other ILD Staff, for follow-up/research matters, providing subject matter expertise.
  • Collaborate directly with the Service Management team members on requests for information, research, findings, and recommendations on the life-cycle support of CBP\xe2\x80\x99s Inspection Technologies.
  • Provide ad-hoc Work Order research on MAXIMO records and other life-cycle information on Inspection Technologies relating to the duties of the position.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in gathering and disseminating information regarding repair information.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) when communicating and collaborating with [ILD] Service Management team members, Program Office members, CBP Officers, Agents, and/or Personnel in the field to respond to requests on status, updates, and other data within MAXIMO.
  • When requested or necessary, add information into, update, and edit records within MAXIMO.
  • When needed, participate in meetings with the Service Management team members to provide subject matter expertise.
  • Provide Work Order status for completed Work Orders without proper documentation and communicate with vendors to gather the needed documentation.
  • Periodic support of MSR training may be required in times of low staffing.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma or GED required
    • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
  • Must be able to pass a CBP Background Investigation (required for this position)

Preferred:
  • Maximo experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Non-Intrusion Inspection equipment is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in a general help desk or customer service position desired.
  • Logistics support experience a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Must have attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Competence in and knowledge of fielded equipment, both scientific and surveillant in nature, and of the work protocols and practices of the assigned subject-matter area. These may be trained or self-taught as necessary.
  • Ability to distinguish problems or issues from failures and to recognize failure trends.
  • MAXIMO experience is a plus.
