BASIC FUNCTION:
The purpose of this position is to perform administrative work, involving considerable responsibility and variety, to manage operations and coordination of all activities in the School of Law\xe2\x80\x99s academic portfolio and to work with the faculty to perform administrative work related to courses, classroom logistics, and other academic programs. This position typically reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and performs special projects as requested by Senior Management.

SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:
Has responsibility or authority which is limited to the direction of student or temporary workers.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, staff and students in the School of Law and other University departments. External contacts include government officials and a myriad of law affiliated institutions, agencies, and organizations, vendors, clinic clients, alumni, sponsor representatives, visitors and the general public.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinates academic program components for the Fall, Spring and Summer sessions.

Provides managerial and technical support on implementing Academic Program project objectives and activities.

Controls the workflow of the Office of Academic Affairs. Implements office procedures and practices. May assign and monitor student workers, as directed. Relays directions from supervisor to coordinate administrative procedures to the Academic Affairs department and/or among other offices.

Works directly with professional, technical and/or supervisory staff to assist in general duties. Gathers and compiles statistics and other materials for various reports. Reviews and processes a variety of forms both online and hardcopy such as personnel or purchase requests.

Assists with planning and coordinating activities including orientation (new students and faculty) and commencement.

Performs data analysis of average difficulty using tables, graphs and basic statistics and prints final reports

Prepares confidential correspondence and reports. Determines and makes needed corrections to produce error-free final copy. Assembles data and composes a variety of correspondence for department.

Processes course book adoptions for adjunct faculty members.

Coordinates execution of student course evaluations.

Assists with the development of staff manuals, student handbooks, and faculty professional development materials.

Records and/or takes meeting minutes including Academic and Joint Degree Programs Committee meetings.

Designs office filing systems and files correspondence, and other items according to categorized order. Searches files and other information sources to answer questions or assemble data for supervisor and other staff. Uses automation to remind supervisor and others of scheduled events, deadlines and other pending matters.

Receives, opens and screens mail for department. Takes appropriate action or researches issues and refers information to proper person for reply.

Performs and coordinates general office duties, maintain confidential records, update/organize office resources and perform other clerical/public relations functions as needed.

Assists the Assistant Dean and administration with other work-related duties as assigned.

Ability to represent all Special Programs in a professional and exceptional manner.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in delivering quality customer services.

Ability to maintain effective and harmonious relations with faculty, staff and students.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and 1-3 years of related work experience in an administrative and/or legal capacity, is required. Previous experience in the area of higher education, and/or the provision of community legal services is desirable. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
