Supervision and Direction: The Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator will be responsible for helping residents enroll into the on-site program, access community services, overcome barriers to employment, strengthen their financial capability, and support resident in reaching their goals. This position will report to the Director, Resident Services. Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conducting interviews with participants to determine the nature and extent of their needs.
  • Developing a contract of participation with each head of household and guiding them in developing appropriate and achievable self-sufficiency goals.
  • Monitoring residents progress by maintaining contact, making community referrals, providing workshops and educational opportunities at the property and updating the needs of the FSS residents.
  • Training FSS residents in life skills such as budgeting, decision-making, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Creating awareness and interest in the FSS program by conducting ongoing outreach and recruitment.
  • Collaborating closely with other departments and programs within the company.
  • Attending FSS committee and community meetings that relate to the administration of the FSS functions.
  • Establishing working relationships with service providers and local organizations to ensure a continuum of services.
  • Developing ongoing strategies to improve delivery of content and quality to the
  • residents.
  • Meeting program documentation requirements by maintaining accurate, objective, complete, timely and well-organized household records, both electronic and hard copy.
  • Conducting activities linked to program evaluation and manages program demographic and outcome data.
  • Participating in all required training to ensure professional growth.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in social work/Human Services with 3 years of experience providing direct service in a private or non-profit social service organization OR 4 years equivalent work experience providing direct service in a private or non-profit social service organization.
  • Knowledgeable of referral process and working knowledge of local services to support FSS enrolled residents.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Master\'s Degree in Social Work/Human Services with 2 years of experience providing direct service in a private or non-profit social service organization;
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English;
  • Knowledgeable of referral process and working knowledge of local services to support FSS enrolled residents;
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
