St. Mary\'s Health System, a member of Covenant Health, is looking for an experienced candidate to fill the Patient Access Services Coordinator role! In this position, the right candidate will be responsible for the coordination of resources and training. Assures accuracy of accounts and Medical Necessity Compliance to assure minimal financial risk to the organization. Responsible for staffing schedule, workflow, and quality reports. Responsible for providing measurable data for performance improvement. Maintains processes and procedures for Access staff in the Lab and 1st Floor Registration areas and works independently without direct supervision. Provide strong leadership and problem-solving direction for Patient Access staff. Responsibilities:
  • Monitors employee workload and makes adjustments to assignments to ensure best patient flow, reducing wait times and staffing needs.

  • Assists in developing standards and procedures to meet the needs of the Lab and 1st Floor registration area

  • Oversees processes specific to registration: medical necessity, filing, scanning, POS collections, etc.

  • Provides ongoing training and support for staff and new employees regarding the registration process

  • Provides QA data to management using denial reports and other tools
Education and Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 3-5 years previous experience in healthcare preferred

  • 1-3 previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of insurance requirements and available resources in order to complete verification, authorization or pre-certification

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
