Job Description


This role will be is responsible for assisting the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller in the strategy & planning, financial management, and day-to-day support for high priority deliverables and initiatives. The role will also lead additional projects for the overall administrative, operational, and strategic activities of Controllers.

Responsibilities:

  • Help shape the strategic priorities and transformation agenda for the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer
  • Provide oversight and credible challenge over the implementation of Controller strategic initiatives
  • Help define, monitor, and manage organizational metrics for key focus areas, including but not limited to: issue remediation, financial management and human resources
  • Lead people strategy for Controllers, including but not limited to: recruitment, development, engagement and retention.
  • Oversee delivery of key presentations and communications to a wide range of stakeholders, including regulators, internal stakeholders and Board, etc.
  • Manage tasks and responsibilities associated with the planning, directing, coordination and support of day-to-day activities relating to projects/initiatives
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders across Citi at all levels, businesses and locations, providing a broad understanding of the organization while building relationships throughout Citi
  • Lead and influence management discussions, strategy, and approach
  • Focus on continuous control improvements across all areas to ensure continued improvement of the control framework in an efficient, cost effective, streamlined, and value-add manner
Qualifications:
  • 7-15 years of experience in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership/executive presence with strong oral and written communication skills, including proven experience in developing senior executive presentations, communications, and concise updates / talking points
  • Openness to challenge and continuously challenging the status quo
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex concepts in a concise manner
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, highly matrix, dynamic environment
  • Ability to garner support and secure buy-in across a wide range of stakeholders and to create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies, and decision makers
  • Self-starter who can work independently and with limited supervision
  • Quick learner, with ability to understand complex requirements and translate into clear and simple guidance
  • Self-motivated, highly adaptive, and able to work well under high stress
  • Drive administrative, operational, reporting and quality improvements through partnership with internal teams
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Education:
  • Bachelor\'s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master\'s degree preferred
We are currently working on a hybrid schedule consisting of 2-3 days in office and the remainder remote (specific details depend on location and business group). This is not a remote only role.
