Pay Bands:
  • Contracts Specialist I: $49,800.00-$65,400.00
  • Contracts Specialist II: $59,900.00-$78,800.00
  • Contracts Specialist III: $73,700.00-$93,100.00
  • Contracts Specialist IV: $93,500.00-$125,200.00
  • Contracts Specialist V: $106,800.00-$147,700.00

Contracts Specialist Beast Code is looking for a Contracts Specialist to join our team as an adept negotiator with a nose for numbers and an eye for detail to assist with our contracts and bid proposals.
To ensure complex client contract details and company policy and practices are in perfect harmony, the ideal candidate will likely be a perfectionist. You probably notice when a comma or decimal is out of place, you sweat all the small details, and read the small print. Heck, you probably write the small print.

Those are all traits that will serve you well in carrying out the duties of the Contracts Specialist. You must be a ninja capable of slicing through tedious language to evaluate, understand, manage, and comply with contract details and requirements.
We expect a person who fills this position to be a seasoned and experienced professional with proficient knowledge of, and practical experience with, project and process management to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results. Translation = the Contracts Specialist dots the i\xe2\x80\x99s, crosses the t\xe2\x80\x99s, and ensures that all the numbers add up when considering everything from company eligibility criteria to available manpower hours.

Contracts Specialist I
Work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Typically
requires 0-2 years of related experience.
Contracts Specialist II
Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks
within the job function. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
Contracts Specialist III
Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects
of a project. Typically requires 4-7 years of related experience.
Contracts Specialist IV
Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex
technical and business matters. Typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
Contracts Specialist V
Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May
provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on
advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry
knowledge. Typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
This job might be for you if you enjoy these daily tasks:
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and respond to NDAs, Tas, and/or RFPs
  • Prepare pricing packets based on DCAA approved pricing standards
  • Develop and maintain cost model
  • Compile and submit monthly status reports and other contractual deliverables
  • Communicating with government and industry contracting officers
  • Ensuring compliance with contract terms and DCAA guidelines
  • Supporting DCAA or DCMA with reviews and audits
  • Provide contractual guidance to team members on issues such as spend plans, scope of work, desirability of work, and terms and conditions
  • Professionally administer all contractual issues/documents through all stages of the project lifecycle including cost and proposal preparation, execution, and closeout invoicing per the purchase order terms and schedules
  • Assist in identification, development, and implementation of new contract policies and procedures, and in the continual development of Contracts Administrative processes and procedures

You should bring these qualifications to the table:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with 4 years minimum prior related experience, Graduate degree with 2 years prior related experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in proposals, negotiating, drafting, and administering complex contracts, including Cost Reimbursement, T&M, Incentive Fee, and Fixed Price-type contracts
  • Minimum 2 years of experience and working knowledge of U.S. government procurement regulations (FAR / DFAR)

  • Strong written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel (to include advanced formulas), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, and bring passion and energy in line with company culture

You score bonus points if you have:
  • CFCM / CPCM or DAWIA Level 2 in Contracting
  • Experience with Competitive DoD Acquisitions
  • Experience in Commercial Sales and Commercial Item Determinations

Other Requirements:
  • Due to the nature of our work, it is mandatory that you are a U.S. Citizen and are able to obtain a government security clearance as well as comply with Government regulations.
  • Successfully complete background check and maintain a valid USA driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
