Telework is not available during training (3-9 months), then 1-3 days of telework may be approved if eligibility requirements are met. This position offers medical, dental, vision from day one, 12 paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, etc.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

As an Analyst, you will work directly with the investigative team for enforcement matters involving a variety of industries regulated by the Division of Consumer Protection. As part of your work, you will perform complex legal analysis of investigations and provide guidance to investigators regarding difficult questions and issues arising in the course of an investigation. Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting agency management on legal and policy questions.
  • Handling special projects as assigned to further the work of the Division.
  • Drafting and/or reviewing citations, settlements, notice of agency actions, templates, policy documents, and other administrative and civil legal filings on behalf of the Division.
  • Assisting with drafting proposed statutory and administrative rule changes.
  • Assisting investigators and senior management in establishing a course of action.
  • Assisting with Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) requests.
  • As needed, maintaining an investigative caseload, often involving legally complex, sensitive, or challenging cases.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills in determining violations of the law.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
PREFERENCES

Preferences may be given for the following:
  • Bar license in good standing.
  • Experience in administrative law hearings or motion practice.
  • Expertise in data privacy and social media laws.
