Position Background and Goals
The Strategic Agreements & Compliance team is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive compliance strategy ensuring adherence to contractual requirements ultimately protecting our access to key technologies and safe-guarding our long term freedom to operate. The compliance manager is responsible for breaking down strategic soybean platform agreements into actionable requirements, partnering with the business to integrate requirements into standard operating procedures and automated solutions and performing assessments to ensure the organization is adhering to contractual requirements. This role will collaborate closely with legal, business development, platform, research and development, production and commercial staff to ensure contractual requirements are properly communicated and executed.

Key Responsibilities - What you will do to help us grow!

  • Ensure contractual compliance by translating compliance matrices from legal teams into specific tasks within organizational project plans which capture requirements, resources, timing, accountable party, and mechanism of verification.
  • Communicate status of compliance activities to leadership and stakeholders as determined through process established in coordination with legal, business development and platform operations.
Legal
  • Ensure contract interpretations are properly communicated.
  • Act as a resource during agreement negotiations.
Business Development, Platform and Program Management Teams
  • Act as a resource during agreement negotiations.
  • Coordinate activities with program management teams to ensure effective implementation of contractual requirements.
Finance
  • Ensure financial reports and required payments are properly managed.
Research, Production and Commercial Teams
  • Communicate requirements and work with staff to ensure requirements are integrated into SOPs or automated software solutions.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement through yearly assessments.
IT
  • Partner with IT staff to develop software solutions that are fully integrated and protect our freedom to operate.
  • Ensure legal and compliance-related applications are fully leveraged and utilized
Stewardship, Quality and IP Compliance Teams
  • Work collaboratively with compliance teams to build global processes to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
Qualifications

Background and Experience - What you\'ll bring to the table.
  • B.S. - 10+ years of work experience in agriculture with project management skills preferred.
  • M.S. - 6+ years of work experience in agriculture with project management skills preferred.
  • Strong science or technical background and, minimum of a B.S. degree (M.S. or PhD preferred) in a science or technical discipline.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and diplomacy.
  • Project management acumen.
  • Capacity to lead strategy and manage minute details simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks to meet business needs.
  • Solutions-oriented attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and business/industry knowledge.
  • Knowledge of key IT solutions is strongly recommended (e.g. NetDocs, Onit, PowerBI, SmartSheets, etc).
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and personality types.
  • Conflict resolution and issues management skills.
  • Must be a be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
