Organization: Compliance Operations - VCH

Job Summary: JThe Compliance Analyst will be responsible for day to day management and oversight of several key operational programs and systems that support VUMC\xe2\x80\x99s compliance program. They help to ensure that VUMC adheres to the highest legal and ethical standards and operates in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to the provision of state and federal healthcare services and the conduct of basic, animal and human subjects research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Policy System Management.
    • Be responsible for day to day management of the VUMC Policy Tech System, which hosts policies and procedures that apply to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital (Shelbyville, TN) and Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital.
    • Serve as a liaison to the VUMC Executive Policy Committee and to other policy-generating and -governing committees and departments, including the Center for Health Information Management (CHIM), the Office of Research, the Animal Care and Use Program, the Human Research Protections Program, Finance, Human Resources, the Information Privacy and Security Executive Committee (IPSEC).
    • Coordinate with HealthIT and the Policy Tech vendor for system updates, reconfigurations and downtime response.
    • Facilitate training and education on policy system use for all levels of user access, maximizing efficiency while minimizing systemic risk.
  • Exclusion System Management.
  • Manage the VUMC Exclusion Monitoring Program which uses software to continuously monitors employees, vendor, medical staff members of VUMC and its affiliates to ensure that they have not been excluded from participation in federal health care programs like Medicare or Medicaid, or debarred from participating in federal grants and contracts.
  • Interface with Human Resources, the Office of Contract Management, Supply Chain and other stakeholders to ensure employee, vendor and medical staff data is complete, accurate and updated timely.
  • Serve as principal OHCC contact with, ProviderTrust, VUMC\xe2\x80\x99s exclusion monitoring vendor on day to day operational issues.
  • Work with OHCC leadership, the Office of Legal Affairs, Human Resources and Supply Chain to investigate and help respond when an individual or vendor screened by the system has been identified as potentially excluded or debarred.
  • Integrity Line.
    • Provide secondary support and assistance with the VUMC Integrity Line, a vendor managed hotline for reporting compliance concerns.
    • Work with OHCC\xe2\x80\x99s Integrity Line Coordinator to assist in the triage and assignment of projects for internal investigation and resolution, and to ensure investigations have been completely and timely resolved.
    • Assist with the preparation of quarterly reports to the Compliance and Corporate Integrity Committee summarizing Integrity Line activity.
  • General Office Management
  • Maintain and update department website.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer and Lead Administrative Assistant with development of department budgets and reconciliation of ledgers.
  • Manage all aspects of department procurement, including purchase orders, supply procurement and inventory, invoice processing and payment. Coordinate with department vendors.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), web-based technologies and database tools
  • A willingness to learn new technologies when presented

PREFERRED
  • Excellent math and written and oral communication skills
  • Prior program or project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to collaborate with others
  • The ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects
