Primary Purpose:
This employee is responsible for work in the operation of a telephone answering service in answering a multi-line telephone for all doctor related and "on call" employee phone calls. Work involves responsibility for courteously, promptly and accurately receiving calls and delivering messages to doctors and calling to work "on call" employees as needed. Also provides several distinct clerical functions. Assist in training of other Communication Operators.
Minimum Requirements
Educational and/or Professional Qualifications: High school or equivalent
Experience: Telephone answering service and/or PBX experience desired.
Special Skills/Knowledge: Typing and general office skills. Ability to communicate with public in a prompt, efficient, courteous manner. Good speaking voice. Must be available to work
various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Professional appearance.
Equipment and Materials Knowledge: Medical equipment as it relates to patient care; Computer equipment needed to assigned duties; safety equipment.
Physical Requirements: **Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
