Analyzes information on new and renewal business in order to accept, price, modify or reject business within delegated authority level.
Refers business beyond delegated authority to appropriate authority level with a complete analysis and recommendation for accepting or rejecting the risk.
Reviews and applies information from all departments on changes that apply to underwriting issues.
Explains coverage(s), rules forms, and be able to explain decisions to agents/brokers, company personnel, and policy holders as needed or required.
Participates in Underwriting Audits.
Attain and maintain knowledge of current market trends, conditions and competition in the marketplace.
Pursue continuing education as either assigned or necessary.
Respond to regulatory and compliance issues.
Assist in the education of branch associates regarding insurance issues.
Perform other duties as requested by the Vice President of Underwriting, and/or local Branch Leadership. Screens new applications for accuracy, completeness, and acceptability.
Ability to interact with others in a professional manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCITONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business administration, finance, risk management, or similar preferred.
CPCU designated preferred.
Computer literate.
A minimum of three (3) years of Farm/Ag Workers Compensation underwriting experience
Must be knowledgeable of ISO and NCCI rating and coverage forms.
Good communication skills both oral and written.
Ability to handle multi-tasking.
Sit, stand, walk/ambulatory.
Ability to lift 10 pounds
