Job Description


Provide subject matter expertise, quality assurance, analytics, data management, and reporting support for Cigna Commercial and Marketplace Products. Specifically, Production and Prospective data support and analysis for audited Health Effectiveness and Information Set (HEDIS) data. Tasks include project management of operational data downloads, data analysis, data extraction and manipulation, creation of queries and reports, ingestion and of external clinical data, supporting internal/external audits, assisting with external vendor relationships and working with matrix partners as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Use research skills to analyze data for policy/operations decisions and root cause analysis.
  • Develop/maintain vendor file layout mapping & requirements documentation.
  • Identify data elements and sources needed for new and existing file layouts.
  • Write business and technical specifications and perform data quality testing.
  • Partner with IT to ensure new development, enhancements and fixes meet business needs.
  • Research and identify data quality issues to include implementation of actions to correct issues found.
  • Work closely with matrix partners throughout the organization to provide data and reporting support.
  • Provide expert consultation to improve data availability, collection, integrity, root cause analysis and quality.
  • Work with matrix partners to enhance internal Interoperability efforts
  • Work effectively and efficiently on multiple tasks and deadlines in order to produce high quality results.
  • Ability to adapt within an environment which requires constant technical skill development and expansion of business expertise.
Background/Knowledge Required:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, finance, economics, health administration, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent training and mastery.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in health care analytics/information management
  • Expertise in Quality Performance, HEDIS, VBP, STARs preferred.
  • Experience with Clinical Data (Claims, Diagnosis codes, Encounters)
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems, specifically CCD/CCDA/FHIR/HL7
  • Experience with relational database concepts and applications, analytic data development and decision support tools such as: Databricks, R, Hadoop, Toad, Access, Excel.
  • Strong understanding of health care data systems in support of core functions such as claim, eligibility, encounters.
  • Comfortable working with different systems and accessing various sources of data.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
  • Exhibits a strong customer service focus with demonstrated ability to adapt to ever changing business environment to resolve issues creatively.
This is a Hybrid role: the Employee will be expected to work in one of our offices some of the time.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
