Overview

San Tan Charter School is seeking a positive, reliable, and student-centered Classroom Assistant to support two classrooms and provide targeted academic support to specific students. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with learners, is patient, and feels confident supporting math and ELA content up through Algebra I.

Responsibilities

Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support to designated students in math and ELA. Reinforce and model classroom expectations, helping maintain a calm, productive learning environment. Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement instructional strategies and accommodations. Assist with organization, transitions, and student engagement during lessons and independent work periods. Support students in developing executive functioning skills such as task initiation, follow-through, and organization. Build positive, encouraging relationships with students while maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or youth-support setting required. Strong foundational knowledge of math and ELA content (up through Algebra I). Ability to follow teacher direction and adapt to the instructional needs of individual students. Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills. Professional, dependable, and committed to supporting student growth.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
